Calliope Geranium

The Calliope geranium is the big ticket this year. The dark rich red color of the flower and full semi-trailing habit give it a great look in a pot. I only received about a dozen plants this year so will see what I think of them at end of season. One of the main things to consider in our area is cold tolerance – especially this year! We have had very few days above 80 degrees. This effects annual growth even more drastically than I thought. Lots of warm season plants are growing very slooooowly.  This one is holding its own, growing and blooming away, albeit slowly.  Its not a huge plant at this point in LATE JULY but does have a continual show of 2-3 blooms on it.
